Norman Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC)

SJC airport is adjacent to highways 101 and 880. The airport is located 2 miles north of Downtown San Jose, 45 miles southeast of San Francisco and 32 miles southwest of Oakland.

Rental Cars

Each terminal has a clearly marked Rental Car Shuttle bus stop. Rental Car Shuttles will transport customers to and from the terminals and the Rental Car Center every 10 minutes. Daily hours of operation are 6 am to 12 midnight.

Yellow Checker Cab and United Taxicab are stationed at the Airport for on-demand service. They are accessible from Terminal A and Terminal C respectively.

Taxi Rates: $2.00 Flag Drop (1/10 of a mile) $.25 Each 1/10 mile thereafter. All trips from SJC add $1.50 airport tax fee.

Getting from SJC to Public Transportation

The Airport Flyer shuttle bus makes a continuous loop between the Metro Light Rail Station, the Santa Clara Caltrain Station and the Airport Terminals. A new shuttle departs each designated stopping point approximately every 10-15 minutes from 5 a.m. - 12 midnight. This bus is free of charge.

BART - Board the free Airport Flyer bus outside of the airport terminal. Exit at the Metro Light Rail Station. Board the VTA Light Rail at the Metro station and exit at Civic Center. Take the VTA #180 Express Bus to the Fremont Bart Station.

Caltrain - Board the free Airport Flyer bus outside of the airport terminal. Exit at the Santa Clara Caltrain Station. Caltrain provides rail service between San Francisco and San Jose, with weekday commute-hour service to Gilroy. Fares from this station range from $1.75 to $5.50. Buy your ticket before getting on the train.

VTA Bus & Rail Service - Serves the Santa Clara Valley. Connections to the light rail lines and bus lines are accessible from the free Airport Flyer shuttle bus (route #10).
